Denver, CO

There is so much to do here! We can go the museum this weekend or the zoo or even skiing. This is a beautiful place with so many things to see. It is easy to understand why this city is know and the fittest city in the country when it has 300 days of sunshine with near perfect temperatures for being outside. I love it!

We learned about the "Western Stock Show" and all the other wonderful fun attractions around Denver. Jessie even competes in the show.

The City and County of Denver is the capital and the most populous city of Colorado, in the United States. Denver is located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Southern Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately 15 miles (24 km) east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile (5280 feet or 1609.344 m) above sea level.

We went to the Denver Mint and the Denver Art Museum. They were very neat places with lots of things to see and do!

Taylor and I went biking for four miles. It was funny. I saw birds and snakes and other animals and when I came back I wanted to go again. Yesterday I hiked with Sam O. It was great. I tripped over a rock. When Sam and I got back we were tired. Avery, Sam O. and I went biking, it was fum and exciting.

We were in Denver Colorado today. I watched the Avalanche. It was them vs. the Wild. After that I went to a cheeseburger cafe. I was thinking about the Wild victory. I was wondering about if Kyle was going to crash into me and if we were going to go over a cliff when we were biking tonight.

Today we met someone named Jessie Jones. She was a barrel racer. She was dressed up as a cowgirl. She was pretty. The end.

Sam M., Neil, Kory and I went bike riding. We saw a bear. We did not have a bell so we biked as fast as we could. The bear was gone. Then we went fishing! Taylor and I went hunting. Taylor and I saw a bear again, so I shot it. I said, we have a dinner tonight. Taylor nodded his head, We do. Then Taylor shot a buck.

Today we met a girl named Jessie. She looked like a cow girl. Show told us about the world's largest rodeo. You know what? I might sign up.

Albuquerque, NM

We met Pablo from the Pueblo! He showed us the type of home that he lives in. This is one of the oldest communities in our country. We learned about all of New Mexico's state symbols too!

The whole city is like one big history lesson. We even saw Petroglyphs. Did you know that this is the "Ballooning Capital of the World." Flat spaces, light winds, temperatures always with in the right range. It is wonderful. We even saw the art work of Georgia O'Keefe.

Journal:
Sam and I went to see the hot air balloon race. We went to go get ice cream. Then we saw the winner. The name was Ozzie Low. We said good job when he got down!

Today I went golfing. I golfed 40 holes. Most of the holes I got a 2, 4, 3, 5, 6, and 7. I got the score 57. I beat Sam O. I thought he would win but lucky for me he didn't. I beat him by 12 this time, most of the time he wins by 12 but this time he didn't.

Today I went down the mountain at blinding speeds. I whizzed down to the golf course. I hit the ball with my skis, hole in one! Then I whizzed right on to the tennis court. I pulled out my raqcuet and hit the ball. 1 point! I stopped right at the net, it was fum! YEE HAW!

Today Sam, Luke, Kory and I were biking. Then we saw a bear. It was scary and I said YES, it is scary! Sam and I went to the restaurant called Peperoni. It was to Sam and I had pizza.

Kory and I went to go fishing. I got 8 bites and I got 6 fish. Kory got 6 bites and 6 fishes. I got 5 walleyes and I got one northern and Kory got the same as me. We were laughing. I ate my northern for dinner so did Kory.

Today we met a guy named Pablo from the Pueblo. He told us about the Cut Throat Trout and that they hunt deer and elk here.

Mr. E. and I were walking around Yellowstone National Park when we saw a big bear. It went up on it haunches and roared very loud. I got scared then the bear charged me. Mr. E. dropped to the ground like we were dead. When it looked away we bellycrawled to Old Faithful. When we got inside we were so relieved to be there.

Gallup, NM

Gallup (Navajo: Naʼnízhoozhí) is a city in McKinley County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 20,209 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of McKinley CountyGR6.

Gallup was founded in 1891 as a railhead for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad.

Gallup was the setting as the center of activity in a 2006 Sci Fi Channel mini-series The Lost Room starring Peter Krause.

Gallup is sometimes called the "Indian Capital of the World", for its location in the heart of Native American lands, and the presence of Navajo, Zuni, Hopi and other tribes.

Route 66 runs through Gallup, and the town's name is mentioned in the lyrics to the song, Route 66.

Phoenix, AZ

What an awesome place! There is so much to do here! I think that I will go golfing at one of the 200 courses here this afternoon. No wonder this has become a major conference center for the US!

Phoenix is the capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Arizona and the county seat of Maricopa County, as well as being the largest state capital in the U.S. by population. It is located along the banks of the now normally dry Salt River. It was incorporated as a city on February 25, 1881. Residents of Phoenix are known as Phoenicians.

The city's estimated population as of 2006 was 1,512,986, making it the fifth largest city in the United States.

Today Mr. E. and I went to the Grand Canyon. We watched a movie about how the Grand Canyon was formed.

Flagstaff, AZ

We went to the Grand Canyon!! The rangers gave us a lesson on how the canyon was formed. It was very cool. We learned about erosion, sedimentary rocks and the Colorado River. This is an amazing place!

We saw the evidence of erosion all over the place. Ranger Chuck and Mike showed us how erosion works in an erosion pool. It was neat!

Flagstaff (Navajo: Kinłání) is a city located in northern Arizona, in the southwestern United States. Cedar City, UT

We met Alexis in Cedar City today. They have quite the combination for adventure and fun. They have culture, national parks and many festivals. One of their most famous festivals is the Shakespeare Festival. A nickname for the town is "Festival City, USA."

Cedar City is a city located in Iron County, Utah, United States, 250 miles south of Salt Lake City on Interstate 15. It is the home of Southern Utah University, the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Neil Simon Theatre Festival, Groovefest, the Utah Summer Games, and other events. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 20,527, estimated to be 23,983 by 2005

Bryce Canyon National Park- Bryce Canyon has lots of red rocks and you can go hiking there. There are lots of national parks around Cedar City, Utah!

Today I got to to the fall colors festival. They dropped lots of colored confetti on everyone. I had brought a vacuum. I turned it on and sucked up a lot of confetti. When I got back to the campsite I put the vacuum in reverse and turned it on. Confetti flew wildly across the campsite. It was EXCITING!

Today I went biking. I stopped to see the play Mac Beth. It was fabulous, in some parts it was really scary but for the most part it was great! They gave me some pasta but I ordered the pasta first. After that I got desert.

I went to the theaters to see Madagascar !! We got popcorn too. We went to see the movie. When we came in it was quiet. We were the first ones in their. It was fum. I was excited to see the movie.

We were in Cedar City, Utah, the theaters are famous there and never knew the school was named The Thunderbirds. Sam O. and I went to the play and then me and Neal went to get ice cream, it was cool, literally.

Today we were in Cedar City, UT. I went to the theater to see Mac Beth and after that I went to the Thunderbirds Game. It was them vs. Minnesota. I cheered for the Gophers. Rah, Rah, Rah.

Salt Lake City, UT

WE MET DAVE ZABRISKIE TODAY!! HE IS MY VERY FAVORITE PROFESSIONAL CYCLIST!! HE IS FROM HERE!

He told us all about Brigham Young and the Mormon Trail. He also told us about the Olympics and the Bonneville Flats and land speed records! Man, that was cool. Did you know that the Great Salt Lake used to be called Lake Bonneville? It was much bigger too! We learned why it is a "salt" lake. There are now rivers or streams leaving the valley. All of the minerals that go into the lake can not escape.

We learned a ton about Salt Lake City and The Great Salt Lake! We learned what a hub was, why a capital city is important, and about the history of the city. What a wild story!

Mining booms and the construction of the first transcontinental railroad initially brought economic growth, and the city became nicknamed the Crossroads of the West. In the 21st century the city has developed a strong outdoor recreation tourism industry (skiing and biking), become the industrial banking center of the U.S, and served as host to the 2002 Winter Olympics.
